Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care for birthing patients and their families
• Manage postpartum patient care and support successful transitions to the newborn and family
• Perform neonatal stabilization and resuscitation using NRP best practices when needed
• Initiate and manage IV therapy and IV medication administration safely and accurately
• Operate and monitor GE equipment and bedside monitors, documenting care in the CPN system
• Support advanced neonatal interventions such as phototherapy, bubble CPAP maintenance and tube feeding
• Assess and manage Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and care for preterm or low blood sugar infants
• Collaborate with NNPs, assist NPs with procedures, and participate in unit-level teamwork to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice) and current BLS required
• Current ACLS, NRP and STABLE certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (unit requests at least 1+ year L&D / Level 2 experience)
• Demonstrated postpartum and Level 2 neonatal care experience
• Comfortable initiating IVs and administering IV medications
• Experience with phototherapy, bubble CPAP support and tube feeding preferred
• Ability to document thoroughly in electronic systems (CPN) and work collaboratively with unit providers

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neonatal and postpartum assessment skills
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) competency
• IV initiation and IV medication administration
• Familiarity with phototherapy, bubble CPAP and tube feeding protocols
• Experience recognizing and managing NAS and preterm infant needs
• Proficiency with GE monitors and bedside monitoring
• Accurate clinical documentation in CPN and solid communication with NNP/NP teams
• Comfort assisting with procedures such as lumbar puncture and circumcision when needed
