Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a progressive care/telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in cardiac status
• Perform thorough assessments and develop/tailor nursing plans that improve outcomes
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR to keep the team informed
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, CNAs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate strong care transitions
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clarity to support recovery and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to enhance patient experience

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (PCU/telemetry experience strongly preferred)
• Telemetry competency required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable floating to other units when needed and working as part of a close-knit team
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a patient-focused approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Progressive care / step-down patient management
• Experience with Cerner EMR for documentation and order management
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to manage typical patient ratios (1:5–1:6 stretch)
• Teamwork, adaptability, and effective bedside communication
