Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding)
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using safe body mechanics
• Take and record vital signs; promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families, promoting dignity and respect
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (or state-recognized equivalent) — required or preferred depending on state rules
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Demonstrated compassion and experience working with older adults or in long-term care
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant / Nursing Assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
• Understanding of infection control, safety and resident dignity
• Comfortable with documentation and charting basic observations
• Basic knowledge of mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
• Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
• Teamwork, patience, and the ability to follow care plans
