Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and document patient condition to ensure high-quality, safe care
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility policy
• Perform NIHSS stroke assessments and other neurological checks as indicated
• Provide compassionate patient and family education about diagnoses and care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain certification currency
• Follow infection control practices and maintain accurate, timely charting
• Support transitions of care, including handoffs and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license with License/Certificate Verification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful Fit Test and Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen as part of onboarding
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, COVID-19, 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
• Proficiency with NIHSS stroke scale and basic life support (BLS)
• Skilled in medication administration, IV care and standard nursing procedures
• Accurate documentation and electronic charting habits
• Ability to work independently on weekend shifts and collaborate with team members
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control and quality improvement
