Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to nursing staff promptly
• Provide nourishing meal assistance and help with feeding when required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, person-centered environment that promotes independence

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtain upon hire
• Valid photo ID, clear background check, and required immunizations
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including lifting and long periods of standing
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Compassionate resident-centered care and strong bedside manner
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic vital signs monitoring and observation skills
• Accurate documentation and time management
• Infection control practices and safe hygiene techniques
• Teamwork, clear communication, and a calm approach in busy situations
