Roles & Responsibilities

• Support diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral procedures including PCI and angioplasty
• Assist with pacemaker/AICD insertion, pacemaker lead management, and electrophysiology procedures
• Monitor and manage procedural sedation and hemodynamics, including Swan-Ganz monitoring when needed
• Perform sheath removal and manage vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Maintain radiation and laser safety practices in the cath/EP lab
• Document care accurately in Epic and coordinate patient handoffs and discharge teaching
• Respond to emergencies and assist with arrhythmia management and cardioversion
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response) to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years cath lab RN experience required
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state (current) or as directed by facility
• Required certifications: ARRT, Fluoro Permit, BLS, ACLS (RCIS-only applicants are not acceptable)
• Pending Fluoro permits may be considered if you have already applied at time of submission
• Comfortable with call and every-other-weekend coverage
• Epic charting experience preferred; first-timers in travel assignments are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (PCI, left/right heart cath)
• Angioplasty, stent placement, and peripheral vascular interventions
• Pacemaker/AICD insertion and lead management; pacemaker/defibrillator extraction support
• Electrophysiology procedures and cardioversion
• Vascular closure systems and sheath removal competency
• Monitoring procedural sedation, IV therapy, and emergency medication administration
• Familiarity with Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and central line management
• Strong infection prevention, dysrhythmia interpretation, and radiation safety practices
• Epic electronic charting and interdisciplinary communication
