Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor telemetry patients, responding quickly to changes in cardiac rhythms
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care, including medication administration and IV therapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the EHR
• Perform patient and family education to promote understanding of condition, medications and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and maintain required certifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in Telemetry and Medical-Surgical Nursing (per core skills listed)
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Specialty-Specific Competency Testing
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, fit test, MMR, Hep B, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 and influenza as listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment in med-surg settings
• Medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Accurate and timely EHR documentation
• Ability to work within a fast-paced team and escalate concerns appropriately
• Infection control, patient safety and emergency response skills
