Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Night 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (float pool coverage). Schedule published 6 weeks out, every-other-weekend requirement, travelers may be assigned via text 2 hours before shift; EOW, Days, First to Float.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care across MedSurg Tele and PCU units, including stepdown and post-procedural patients
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias confidently and promptly
• Titrate and manage common drips such as heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, and insulin
• Collaborate with monitor techs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe patient flow
• Perform thorough assessments and document care accurately in Cerner
• Support med-surg patients with respiratory needs, including CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow therapy
• Precept or assist team members as needed and participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing education

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to work in Arizona
• BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
• Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing common post-cath and post-op cardiac patients
• Must not have been full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year and must comply with 50-mile radius rule

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record
• Post-op cardiac and cath lab post-procedure care, including groin site management
• Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high-flow therapies
• Strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment skills, and the ability to float between units
• Team communication and collaboration in a fast-paced acute care setting
