Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med-Surg nursing care to a diverse acute patient population including CHF, Sepsis, CIWA, SOB, and chest pain
• Safely titrate drips and administer heparin according to protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with CNAs, bedside teams, and respiratory therapy to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform thorough assessments, document care in Meditech, and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Serve as a flexible team member who can float to ER, OB, or ICU as needed to support patient care
• Participate in unit safety practices, adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios, and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (state appropriate for assignment)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required prior to start
• 1-2 years Med-Surg nursing experience required; travel experience recommended but not required
• Comfortable with drip titration and heparin administration
• Familiarity with Meditech charting or other electronic health records
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and meet weekend/holiday staffing needs

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Experience with CPAP and High Flow troubleshooting; ability to call RT when needed
• Drip titration knowledge and safe medication administration practices
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, including CNA collaboration
• Familiarity with telemetry principles and reading strips when required
• Adaptability to float to ER, ICU, or OB as a helping hand
