Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to assigned patients as a VMS RN
• Perform timely assessments and intervene appropriately using BLS/ACLS/PALS principles
• Conduct stroke assessments using NIHSS and document findings accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Maintain competency through Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing
• Ensure compliance with license/certification verification and facility policies
• Complete required screenings and health documentation to meet facility onboarding standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (state licensure required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• TNCC certification (required)
• NIHSS certification/competency (required)
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity specialty competency testing
• Must pass required health screenings (drug screen, fit test, immunizations, TB testing, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for acute and emergent patients
• Proficiency with stroke scale (NIHSS) and acute stroke workflows
• Trauma and emergency nursing knowledge (TNCC)
• Ability to perform and document resuscitation and advanced life support interventions (ACLS/PALS/BLS)
• Comfortable with unit-based monitoring equipment and electronic health records
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Attention to detail for regulatory and competency documentation
