Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to adult ICU patients during overnight weekend shifts
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor hemodynamics and ventilator settings
• Quickly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating ACLS protocols when necessary
• Effectively use EPIC for accurate, timely documentation and communication with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and titrate drips per protocol while ensuring patient safety and accurate charting
• Conduct NIHSS stroke assessments and collaborate on acute stroke care when indicated
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and maintain required certifications and licensure
• Educate patients and families with empathy and clarity, supporting recovery and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to practice in Indiana required)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency in stroke assessment
• Demonstrated ICU nursing experience and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing, 10-panel drug screen, and required health screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and health documentation (TB screening, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, COVID-19, influenza, varicella, etc.)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making in acute care settings
• Proficiency with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Skilled in EPIC documentation, medication administration, and care coordination
• Familiarity with ACLS algorithms and stroke assessment (NIHSS)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for working with physicians, therapists, and support staff
• Ability to maintain composure and prioritize tasks during high-stress situations
