Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating/on-call schedule: weeknight call approximately every 1-2 weeks; weekend call approximately every 4-5 weekends; holiday rotation includes 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM). Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile instruments and supplies so the OR runs smoothly and safely
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during procedures with focused, precise technique
• Maintain sterile field integrity and follow strict infection control protocols every case
• Perform Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty-specific competency testing as required
• Participate in on-call coverage for weeknights, weekends, and holiday rotations
• Complete required documentation, instrument counts, and equipment checks accurately
• Support patient safety by ensuring all license, certification, and health requirements are met

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• Current license/certification verification as required by facility
• Ability to complete Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity specialty-specific competency testing
• Willingness and ability to participate in weeknight, weekend, and holiday call rotations
• Ability to pass required health screenings and drug testing (2-step PPD or IGRA, COVID vaccine, fit test, color vision, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza as listed)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced OR teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with perioperative routines, counts, and OR protocols
• Comfort working under pressure and adapting to changing case needs
• Attention to detail for documentation, counts, and equipment preparation
• Team-oriented mindset and clear communication with surgeons, nurses, and techs
• Willingness to complete required competency testing and ongoing training
