Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shift; exact start/end times and days to be confirmed (orientation required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for scheduled procedures
Maintain a sterile field and ensure surgical team adherence to infection control practices
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons with accuracy and anticipation
Perform instrument counts and document supplies used during cases
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiology to support safe patient care
Assist with room turnover to keep the surgical schedule on track

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Familiarity with operating room protocols and sterile technique
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a perioperative team
Prior OR or surgical tech experience a plus (preferred, not mandatory)

Education

Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program preferred
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and instrument identification
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work efficiently under pressure
Attention to detail for accurate counts and documentation
Team-oriented mindset and clear communication skills
Familiarity with basic OR equipment and common surgical procedures
Comfortable following established protocols and adapting to OR workflow
