Roles & Responsibilities

• Support endoscopy procedures by preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment and supplies
• Assist physicians and clinical staff during GI procedures with calm, focused action
• Ensure patient safety and comfort through vigilant monitoring and adherence to sterile technique
• Perform post-procedure processing, cleaning and high-level disinfection of scopes and instruments
• Document procedure details, equipment status and patient information accurately in the record
• Participate reliably in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays, to support a busy GI lab
• Complete required competency exams and checklists to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• DCI/BVP certification required
• Active license/certification verification per facility policy
• Strong experience in a busy GI/endoscopy lab and comfort with high-volume workflow
• Willingness and ability to take weekday overnight on-call shifts and 24-hour weekend on-call rotations
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist as required
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit testing)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of endoscopy equipment, reprocessing and high-level disinfection procedures
• Familiarity with common GI procedures and the flow of a GI lab
• Strong infection control and sterile technique practices
• Patient monitoring and safe positioning during procedures
• Good documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
• Calm decision-making and teamwork skills during high-volume or urgent situations
