Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
• Administer treatments and medications while documenting carefully in EPIC EMR
• Communicate changes and critical findings to physicians and the multidisciplinary team
• Teach and guide patients and families about condition, recovery and self-care
• Direct and support other nursing personnel to maintain high standards of care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
• Participate in required competency testing and specialty skills checks

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license (state RN license required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• EPIC EMR experience required — strong documentation skills a must
• Telemetry nursing experience with cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Nursys registration and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred and ability to meet facility health requirements (drug screen, TB test, immunizations, fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring best practices
• ECG/rhythm interpretation and rapid recognition of arrhythmias
• Patient assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking under pressure
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR for charting and medication administration
• Patient and family education techniques that improve outcomes
• Basic ventilator knowledge (preferred) and ability to collaborate with respiratory therapy
• Strong communication and teamwork with physicians and interdisciplinary staff
• Comfort with competency exams and ongoing professional development
