Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs to detect clinical changes early
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and communicate patient status to the team
• Perform thorough assessments, document care in the EHR, and update care plans
• Respond to patient emergencies and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and discharge planning
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Texas or a compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and reliable documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac and medical-surgical patient care in a progressive care setting
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Prioritization, time management, and effective communication
• Team collaboration and patient-centered care approaches
