Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric critical care patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and per protocol
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to coordinate care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and unit onboarding to ensure consistent, high-quality care
• Respond effectively to emergent situations and support life-saving interventions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (California RN licensure strongly preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous PICU or pediatric critical care experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work in high-acuity environments
• Clear background checks and immunization/health requirements as per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and age-appropriate assessment
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and IV/medication administration
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Excellent communication skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
