Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess patient condition and respond to changes with urgency and clinical judgment
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform necessary procedures per unit protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Support families with clear communication, clinical updates, and emotional reassurance
• Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• Pediatric critical care experience preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric background may be considered
• BLS required; PALS preferred or required depending on unit policy
• Current clinical competency in PICU-related skills such as IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of pediatric assessment and age-appropriate interventions
• Familiarity with monitoring equipment and interpretation of vital trends
• Skill in medication administration and safe dosing for pediatric patients
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Compassionate family-centered care and clear communication skills
