Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric critical care patients in the PICU
• Monitor and assess patient status continuously and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and manage complex therapies with precision and safety
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate and support families during high-stress situations with empathy and clear communication
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Participate in orientation and unit-based education to maintain clinical competency

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Ohio (or compact license eligible)
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric ICU/PICU nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented critical care environment
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient/family-centered care skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and age-specific clinical care
• Familiarity with critical care equipment and monitoring (e.g., ventilators, invasive lines)
• Medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Strong prioritization and multitasking in high-acuity situations
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and clear documentation practices
• Compassionate family teaching and supportive communication
