Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform timely triage and rapid patient assessment to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Provide evidence-based emergency nursing interventions including ACLS and PALS when indicated
• Monitor and document patient condition, responses to treatment, and escalation needs
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families during high-stress moments
• Administer medications and treatments safely following Prime Basic Pharmacology protocols
• Maintain infection control and safety standards, including fit testing and PPE compliance
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to verify via Nursys)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• DCI/BVP credential as required by facility
• Per diem availability with willingness to work nights (1900-0730)
• Successful completion of required screenings: 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and occupational health vaccines/tests
• Prior emergency department experience or demonstrated competency in emergency/triage care preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and triage skills with fast, accurate patient assessment
• Proficiency in ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency interventions
• Ability to perform under pressure with excellent clinical judgment
• Familiarity with Prime exam formats and skills checklists
• Clear documentation and communication skills during handoffs and critical events
• Comfort with night-shift workflows and independent decision-making
