Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor pediatric patients in the post-anesthesia care unit to ensure safe recovery
Administer and titrate medications, including pain management interventions, per orders
Perform frequent vital sign assessments and intervene promptly for deviations
Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and families to coordinate care
Document patient status, interventions, and handoffs accurately and timely
Provide education and clear discharge instructions to caregivers and families
Maintain a safe, calming environment tailored to pediatric needs

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, eligible to practice in Missouri
Experience in PACU nursing, pediatric experience strongly preferred
Successful completion of orientation prior to assignment start
Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Certifications such as BLS and pediatric-focused certifications are beneficial

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia assessment and recovery care for pediatric patients
Pain management principles and medication administration
Pediatric patient and family-centered communication
Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary perioperative teams
