Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room and same-day surgery areas
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR techs to ensure smooth, efficient procedures
• Perform thorough pre-op assessments and post-op handoffs to support excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure instruments and supplies are ready and accounted for
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and annual competency activities to maintain excellence
• Cover occasional short Saturday shifts as needed to support patient schedules and coverage needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Oregon (or compact license as applicable)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Perioperative or operating room experience preferred
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and required skills checklists
• Must pass required health screenings and immunizations (fit test, TB/IGRA, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 questionnaire/vaccine, drug screen)
• Ability to work the assigned daytime schedule and provide occasional short Saturday coverage

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative standards and sterile technique
• Comfortable with surgical instrumentation and OR workflow
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and safe handoffs
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-paced environments
• Familiarity with competency testing and skills validation processes
