Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for Neuro Stepdown patients, focusing on safety and recovery
• Perform thorough neurological assessments and communicate changes promptly to the team
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies with precision and attention to detail
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan of care, and discharge instructions
• Monitor telemetry and other clinical data, escalating concerns as appropriate
• Document patient care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — state-specific requirements apply
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Neuro Stepdown / Stepdown Unit (SDU) care
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced acute care setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in neurological assessment and recognizing subtle changes in patient status
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and hemodynamic trends
• Proficient medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
• Prioritization and time management in a high-acuity environment
