Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care for medical-surgical patients with compassion and clinical skill
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and implement patient-centered plans
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
• Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with procedures as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Alabama or eligibility for licensure
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and time management abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficient in patient assessment, vital sign interpretation, and care planning
• Experience with IV therapy and medication administration safety
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting accurate patient information
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across disciplines
