Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (specific start/end times and days vary) — Med/Surg

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Monitor and document patient progress using electronic charting
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
Support unit workflow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana (required)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function well in a fast-paced environment

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
Medication administration and IV management
Wound care and post-operative nursing skills
Electronic charting / EHR proficiency
Patient and family education techniques
Teamwork, time management, and prioritization under pressure
