Shift Type: 3x12-hour Day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; days vary per posted schedule (schedule posted every 6 weeks); every-other-weekend rotation and holidays as needed (Day)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality Labor & Delivery nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity unit, managing complex obstetrical cases
- Function as the Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including eye prophylaxis and Vitamin K administration
- Circulate in C-section procedures and assist the OR team to ensure safe surgical flow
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart patterns using electronic fetal monitoring and intervene per AWHONN guidelines
- Administer and manage critical medications such as magnesium sulfate, insulin drips and anticoagulants safely and accurately
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and support radiant warmer thermoregulation when needed
- Float between postpartum and antepartum and partner with sister facilities for Mother/Baby care as needed
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy and social services
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact license honored at Swedish facilities); current licensure required
- Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience in high-acuity, high-pace Labor & Delivery; strong preference for 5 years of high-risk experience
- Travel RN experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers without manager review
- Current BLS and NRP required; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate preferred
- Must provide supervisory references and proof of required certifications with submission
- NURSYS verification required and candidates must pass clinical review prior to submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments
- Experience with C-section circulation, OR protocols and recovery of C-section patients
- Competence with EPIC charting and electronic fetal monitoring hard stops
- Medication administration experience including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, heparin and oxytocin
- Strong IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
- Ability to triage obstetrical patients, manage postpartum complications and support lactation
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment and mentoring peers
