Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care for cardiac and post-open-heart patients
• Manage advanced ventilator care and perform airway management including intubation when needed
• Operate and monitor continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Care for patients supported by Impella devices and other cardiac assist technologies
• Respond quickly and effectively as part of the rapid response and code blue teams
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Float to other units (PCU/Med-Surg) as required to support facility needs
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and recovery expectations

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state licensure or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or cardiac critical care nursing experience
• ACLS and BLS required; CCRN strongly preferred
• Experience with intubation, ventilator management, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with Impella heart pump care and post open-heart postoperative care a plus
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar documentation systems
• Ability to participate in floating and flexible scheduling, including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac critical care best practices and post-operative cardiac care
• Intubation and airway management techniques
• Ventilator settings, troubleshooting, and weaning
• CRRT setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Experience with Impella device management and monitoring
• Proficiency with Meditech for charting and clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking under pressure
