Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor critically ill ICU patients to identify changes quickly
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic supports, and advanced monitoring with confidence
• Administer medications and critical therapies accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Perform thorough documentation in the electronic health record to support continuity and quality
• Lead bedside critical thinking during emergencies and participate in code responses as needed
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Educate patients and families with compassion, helping them understand care plans and goals

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license/certificate verification required)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS (listed in the order provided)
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass Fit Test, 10-panel drug screen, and background health requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations: Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Comfort working in critical care/ICU environments and delivering high-acuity nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care knowledge including ventilator management and hemodynamic assessment
• Proficiency with advanced cardiac monitoring and interpreting telemetry
• Skilled in IV medication administration, titrations, and emergency protocols
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and crisis management
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and healthcare teams
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and quality/safety practices
