Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care across the Main ED, Fast Track and ED Observation units — you’ll rotate and keep your skills sharp
• Perform triage and quick registration to prioritize care and keep the department flowing
• Manage patient care from arrival through disposition including assessment, interventions, and documentation
• Provide monitoring and support during conscious sedation procedures and post-procedure recovery
• Assist with COVID testing and immunization clinics as needed to support community health efforts
• Float to other areas when required — support may include task-oriented roles or taking a patient load when qualified
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to create safe patient plans
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and communicate clearly with patients and families

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license (state of practice) in good standing
• Minimum 2 years recent Registered Nurse experience in Emergency Department/ED or equivalent acute care experience
• Required certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS; PALS or ENPC; TNCC; conscious sedation certification (facility may assist with obtaining)
• Comfortable working night shifts and the typical 7 on/7 off rotation
• Ability to triage quickly, think critically under pressure, and adapt to changing patient volumes
• Willingness to float to other qualified departments and help where needed

Education

• Active RN license required (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and assessment skills in a fast-paced ED environment
• Experience with Fast Track and ED Observation workflows
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and patient monitoring
• Ability to perform quick registration and entry screening with a patient-centered approach
• Familiarity with infection control practices, COVID testing protocols and immunization clinic workflows
• Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation skills in the electronic health record
