Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and apply the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) to deliver safe, high-quality care
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings with confidence and compassion
• Communicate clinical changes, diagnostic results and care plans effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
• Lead and guide patient and family education to promote understanding and recovery
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and hospital social services
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in all documentation and communications
• Mentor and collaborate with other nursing personnel while upholding professional nursing standards

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (must be active and verifiable)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• NRP required
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 required
• BVP (MAB) training required
• NIHSS / Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Familiarity with Telemetry and Emergency Department workflows and documentation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficient in direct patient care, telemetry monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in patient/family teaching and clear clinical communication with physicians
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting procedures
• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to rapid changes in patient condition
• Competent in basic rhythm interpretation and specialty ED competencies
