Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and prioritize emergency patients with skill and compassion
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in the Emergency Department
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor patients, administer treatments and medications safely, and evaluate outcomes
• Document patient status and interventions accurately and timely in the chart
• Participate fully in orientation, training, and unit-based improvement initiatives
• Advocate for patients and families while maintaining a calm presence in high-pressure situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) encouraged
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Emergency Department nursing
• Current CPR certification and solid patient assessment skills
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• Proficient clinical judgment in high-acuity situations
• Comfort with IV therapy, medication administration, and urgent interventions
• Accurate and timely documentation practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic ED environment
