Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient addiction medicine care, including patient assessment and treatment planning
- Deliver Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using evidence-based protocols
- Document care accurately and efficiently in the sAMMS EMR to ensure continuity and compliance
- Prescribe and monitor medications appropriately, coordinating care with counseling and support services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinic staff to optimize patient outcomes and clinic flow
- Manage patient caseloads with compassion, clinical expertise, and attention to safety
- Support continuity of care during short-staffed periods as a dependable locum provider
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active Kansas medical license or ability to obtain one prior to start
- Board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Psychiatry preferred
- Experience providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in an outpatient setting
- Familiarity with outpatient workflows and EMR documentation (sAMMS experience a plus)
- Active DEA registration or ability to obtain DEA privileges for prescribing
- Current BLS; ACLS or other certifications as required by the clinic
Education
- MD or DO
- Completion of an accredited residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of addiction medicine principles and evidence-based MAT approaches
- Comfortable managing buprenorphine and other MAT medications with appropriate monitoring
- Strong outpatient clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and chronic care management
- Proficient documentation skills and experience with EMR systems, ideally sAMMS
- Excellent communication and patient education skills for engaging individuals in recovery
- Ability to work collaboratively with counseling teams and support staff
