No fixed start/end times — schedule varies based on exam bookings; may include travel to VES leased facility or scheduling Veterans within your private practice. Must be within 50 miles of the Tucson area. (Male provider requirement for Tucson location.)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform initial PTSD exams and follow-up PTSD exams with professionalism and clinical precision
• Complete other mental health evaluations as assigned, ensuring thorough, veteran-focused care
• Accurately complete standardized DBQ forms (no narrative report) and submit within 48 hours of the exam
• Conduct required record reviews prior to evaluations when applicable
• Enter all evaluations and documentation in the VES provider portal in a timely manner
• Obtain DMA certification and complete required trainings once privileged (training available and may include CME)
• Coordinate scheduling logistics when exams are performed in your private practice or at VES facilities

Qualifications

• Active Physician credential (MD or DO) in good standing — Psychiatrist providers preferred
• Experience performing mental health evaluations and PTSD assessments
• Comfort with DBQ completion and standardized-form reporting
• Ability to perform record review and synthesize findings accurately
• Willingness to use a Windows laptop for portal documentation (NO MACs)
• Ability to travel to VES leased facilities when required or schedule Veterans in your practice
• Sporadic/as-needed availability accepted — great for part-time or supplemental clinicians
• Note: Tucson posting requests a male provider for that specific opening and clinicians must be within 50 miles

Education

• MD or DO (Physician) — Psychiatry training or experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in PTSD assessment and other mental health evaluations
• Proficient with DBQ completion and standardized form reporting
• Comfortable performing medical record review and integrating records into clinical conclusions
• Familiarity with online provider portals and electronic documentation workflows
• Strong clinical judgement and clear, timely documentation habits
• Good communication skills when interacting with Veterans and administrative staff
