Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a very busy ED patient population
• Quickly assess, triage and prioritize patients to ensure the right care at the right time
• Perform clinical interventions and procedures appropriate to the emergency setting
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
• Safely float to acute care units as needed and adapt to differing unit workflows
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic charting system
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license where applicable
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Prior emergency department experience preferred; float-pool or acute care background a strong plus
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centered approach
• Willingness and ability to float to acute units when operational needs require it

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required (ADN or diploma)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency assessment, triage and prioritization
• Able to perform and interpret basic emergency procedures and monitoring
• Familiarity with acute care workflows and rapid patient turnover
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and handoffs
• Strong critical thinking, situational awareness and delegation skills
