Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor hemodialysis equipment including Fresenius machines to deliver safe, effective patient treatments
• Perform Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) procedures and support NxStage CRRT treatments as required
• Provide dependable on-call coverage and respond promptly to urgent clinical needs
• Travel to nearby facilities (Elgin) when census or staffing needs require cross-coverage
• Maintain accurate patient treatment documentation and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility competency requirements (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist)
• Participate in required screenings, immunizations, and occupational health checks to maintain compliance and patient safety

Qualifications

• Certified Hemodialysis Technician (required)
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on dialysis technician experience
• Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and NxStage CRRT
• Hands-on experience with Fresenius dialysis equipment
• DCI/BVP certification listed as required in the order information
• Willingness and ability to provide on-call coverage and to travel to Elgin as needed
• Must live nearby or have reliable arrangements to be close to the hospital while on call
• Successful completion of required screens and checks (drug screen, TB/PPD, immunizations, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of hemodialysis principles and patient care during dialysis
• Competence with NxStage CRRT and PD procedures
• Familiarity with Fresenius dialysis systems and machine troubleshooting
• Excellent patient communication and compassionate bedside manner
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Infection control practices, safety awareness, and ability to follow facility protocols
• Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with nurses, nephrologists, and support staff
