Roles & Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence
Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional training to improve quality of life
Monitor and report patient progress and responses to therapy to the supervising OT for informed care planning
Complete accurate, timely documentation that meets facility and regulatory guidelines
Educate patients and families on exercises, adaptive strategies, and safety techniques to support long-term success

Qualifications

Active California COTA license in good standing
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred — experience is a plus but enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize patient-centered care

Education

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of occupational therapy interventions for ADLs and functional mobility
Skilled at clinical documentation and reporting outcomes
Strong patient education and family coaching abilities
Good time management and organizational skills in a rehab setting
Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
