Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the OT
• Implement individualized treatment plans to improve daily living skills and independence
• Conduct skilled treatments, document progress clearly, and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and support staff to create cohesive care plans
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home strategies to promote safety
• Assist in therapy-related equipment selection, recommendation and training for patients

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current Massachusetts licensure/registration or eligibility to practice in MA preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
• Comfort working in a fast-paced rehab environment; experience with geriatric or post-acute populations is a plus
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field required
• COTA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic activities and ADL retraining to improve patient independence
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications and patient safety principles
• Ability to assess functional performance and contribute to measurable treatment goals
• Proficient documentation practices and electronic health record charting
• Team-oriented approach and clear, empathetic patient and family education
