Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to patients including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with mobility and safe transfers to promote patient independence and prevent falls
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support activities of daily living with dignity and respect for each patient
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record and communicate effectively during handoffs
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and colleagues
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico or eligible to obtain one
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work night shifts and remain flexible with per-diem scheduling
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete required health screenings or TB testing
• Successful background check and compliance with facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

• CNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with basic patient care tasks and ADLs
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety practices
• Good observational skills and ability to report patient changes promptly
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication
• Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs in a busy setting
