Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert procedural nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization
• Administer moderate sedation safely and monitor patients’ hemodynamic and respiratory status
• Manage and care for patients with IABP, Impella devices and temporary pacemakers during procedures
• Anticipate and respond to intra-procedural changes and emergencies using ACLS protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique, accurate procedural documentation, and safe transfer of care
• Participate in competency testing and ongoing training to keep skills sharp and current

Qualifications

• Active RN license (verification required) — NY license preferred if available
• 2–3 years’ experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab nursing
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
• Competency/experience with cardiac catheterization, PCI, IABP, Impella and temporary pacemakers
• Ability to administer moderate sedation and monitor patients appropriately
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency testing (or willingness to complete prior to start)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional cardiology workflow
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive pressures and EKG rhythms
• Proficiency with device management (IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers)
• Skilled in moderate sedation management and airway/respiratory monitoring
• Ability to function in fast-paced procedural settings and respond to acute changes
• Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation skills
