Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of the SEARHC Infection Prevention and Control Program to meet regulatory and best-practice standards
• Collect, analyze, trend, and report infection control data, including timely NHSN and regulatory reporting
• Develop, update, and enforce infection prevention policies and procedures aligned with CDC, CMS, OSHA, FDA, TJC, and APIC guidance
• Design and deliver infection prevention education and training for staff, patients, families, and communities
• Chair the Infection Prevention and Control committee and provide oversight of the Employee Health program
• Provide expert consultation to clinical and administrative leaders to integrate infection prevention into strategic and operational initiatives
• Perform site assessments across the consortium and travel to regional facilities to support implementation and training
• Supervise staff as assigned and support competency assessments and manager-level competency activities

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required; direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required (nursing, public health, epidemiology, microbiology, or similar)
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred
• Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) required
• BLS current within 3 months of hire and maintained biannually
• Clinical competency and manager competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy
• Minimum 3 years of acute care/infection control experience and/or data collection and performance improvement/risk management experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, microbiology, or similar required
• Master's degree (MPH or MSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid working knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease, and NHSN reporting
• Experience with data collection, basic statistics, and trend analysis
• Familiarity with project management and performance improvement methodologies
• Proficiency in MS Office and database applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills adapted for diverse, multicultural audiences
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical policies, training, and operational changes
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across multiple sites
