Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
- Perform thorough assessments and create clear, actionable care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Respond promptly to patient needs and acute changes in condition
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and handoff communications
- Support discharge planning and patient education with clarity and empathy
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in New Mexico or compact RN license where applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Demonstrated clinical experience in acute care or similar settings is a plus
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills
- Ability to work independently on overnight shifts and collaborate during handoffs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills for overnight care
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Proficient documentation in electronic health record systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks during high-acuity situations
- Effective teamwork, clear handoffs, and patient/family communication
