Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Support residents with mobility and transfers while maintaining dignity and safety
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with mealtime support and ensuring residents’ nutrition needs are met
- Document care activities accurately and communicate handoffs clearly
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers using safe techniques
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork mindset and clear documentation habits
- Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus
