Shift Type: Night, 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) — 3 nights per week (specific days vary)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide focused, compassionate care for high-risk antepartum patients from 6 to 41 weeks gestation
- Assist with sterile speculum exams and bedside amniotic support with attention to detail
- Manage IV therapy and maintain central lines (PICC/CVC) safely and according to protocol
- Administer critical medications including anticoagulants, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate
- Circulate for C-sections, collaborating closely with surgical and anesthesiology teams
- Operate and monitor PCA and syringe pumps, ensuring accurate dosing and patient comfort
- Support postpartum patients, including mothers with infants in the NICU, while providing sensitive family-centered care
- Document assessments and interventions clearly to support continuity of care and team communication
- Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and escalate appropriately to protect mother and fetus
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Washington (compact license honored at Swedish facilities)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (screen if less than 2 years or limited C-section experience)
- AWHONN Advanced (required)
- BLS and NRP (required)
- ACLS (preferred)
- Comfort and demonstrated experience with high-risk antepartum conditions (preeclampsia, PTL, previa, diabetes, hypertension, twins, PROM)
- Experience circulating for C-sections and working with PCA/syringe pumps, heparin, insulin drips and magnesium sulfate
- First-time travelers are welcome
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — Washington or eligible compact license
Knowledge & Skills
- High Risk Antepartum care and assessment
- Sterile speculum exam assistance (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
- IV therapy, phlebotomy and central line (PICC/CVC) maintenance
- Medication administration for anticoagulation, insulin drips and magnesium sulfate
- Operating and troubleshooting PCA pumps and syringe pumps
- Labor & delivery support including circulating for C-sections
- Compassionate care for fetal demise, antepartum/postpartum loss, and mothers with infants in NICU
- Ability to float to postpartum and adapt to unit needs
