Shift Type: 5x8 schedule (five shifts/week): 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM (Mid). Occasional 10:30 PM starts may be requested; every-other-weekend coverage required. Float between like units as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology and Urinalysis with accuracy and care
• Process and accession specimens promptly and ensure proper handling and labeling
• Run, maintain and troubleshoot analyzers and instruments such as Beckman, Hitachi, Iris Cell and CellaVision
• Conduct blood bank procedures including ABO/Rh, antibody screens, crossmatches and transfusion reaction workups
• Set up and read cultures, perform Gram stains and PCR testing, and interpret microbiology results
• Execute quality assurance and quality control processes and review QC data to ensure reliable patient results
• Document testing and results in Epic and report critical values per facility protocols
• Float between like units as needed to support staffing and maintain patient care continuity

Qualifications

• State licensure required (active at time of submission)
• ASCP-MLS preferred (or equivalent certification)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank and Urinalysis
• Experience with specimen processing, venipuncture and quality control procedures
• Comfortable using Epic for charting and lab documentation
• Ability to float between similar units and adapt to schedule needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Blood Bank testing knowledge
• Specimen processing, accessioning and proper labeling practices
• Quality assurance, QC review and interpretation of control data
• PCR testing, rapid test kits and culture plating/reading
• Instrument familiarity: Beckman, Hitachi, Iris Cell, CellaVision
• Urinalysis (manual and automated), microscopic and macroscopic analysis
• Transfusion procedures including AHG crossmatch, DAT and electronic crossmatch
• Strong documentation skills in Epic and clear communication with clinical teams
