Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, quality-oriented patient care within department policies
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment, including ventilators
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, inventory management and changes
• Support diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease through skilled respiratory therapy interventions
• Adhere to infection control practices and hospital safety procedures
• Participate in orientation and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT acceptable — credential verification required
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license/certification (license/certificate verification required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Completion of Fit Test and annual health screenings as required by the facility
• Compliance with facility health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing/questionnaire, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, health statement)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management and respiratory care equipment preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory therapy principles
• Skilled in equipment setup, maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Infection control best practices and adherence to departmental policies
• Patient-centered care and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and integrate with unit teams quickly
