Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for progressive care neurology patients
Assess, monitor and document patient status, responding quickly to changes
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Mentor and support newer staff, fostering a positive team environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred
Previous experience in progressive care or neurology nursing is highly desirable
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing patient needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of progressive care and neurological patient management
Proficiency with bedside monitoring, telemetry and acute care equipment
Medication administration and IV therapy expertise
Excellent assessment and documentation skills
Teamwork, time management and patient-centered communication
