Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care during the night shift, helping patients feel safe and supported
• Perform routine nursing tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance with dignity
• Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and any changes promptly and accurately
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to follow care plans and ensure smooth handoffs
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and courteously with patients, families, and team members to promote positive outcomes
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies calmly and professionally during overnight hours

Qualifications

• Active California CNA certification is required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Per-diem availability for Sun–Thu nights (10:00 PM–6:30 AM); no pre-planned time off for per diem coverage
• Previous CNA experience in acute care or medical unit preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and hospital onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills, dependability, and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental patient care skills: bathing, feeding, transfers, and toileting assistance
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
• Comfort working independently during overnight shifts and escalating concerns appropriately
• Team collaboration and effective written/verbal communication
