Surgical Technologist - Pediatrics
Location: Dayton, OH

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during pediatric procedures with focus and precision
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure all instruments and supplies are ready
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and deliver instruments efficiently
- Perform instrument counts and document accurately to support patient safety
- Help transport and position pediatric patients appropriately and compassionately
- Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to deliver consistent, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred
- Current BLS certification preferred or must obtain per facility requirements
- Prior experience in an operating room or pediatric surgical setting is a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain sterile technique and follow OR protocols
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Familiarity with pediatric surgical procedures and patient handling
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail during case setup and counts
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adapt in fast-paced environments
- Basic understanding of surgical equipment care and infection control standards
