Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during complex cases across ENT, neuro, thoracic and robotics, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and sterile
• Maintain strict aseptic technique to protect patient safety in high-acuity operative settings
• Anticipate surgeon needs and prepare specialized equipment for procedures such as craniotomies, VATS, robotic cases and microvascular/free flap reconstructions
• Coordinate with perioperative team members to support efficient room turnover and excellent patient flow
• Participate in call rotations and provide reliable coverage when the team needs you
• Contribute to quality and safety initiatives by performing thorough surgical counts and documenting care accurately

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of perioperative or relevant surgical experience, hard stop
• Proven experience with ENT, neuro, thoracic and robotic service lines is mandatory (HARD STOP)
• Experience with endoscopic procedures (bronchoscopy, EGD, colonoscopy) and laparoscopic-assisted cases preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfort working in both teaching and community hospital environments; trauma level I/II experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and perioperative infection control
• Surgical assistance across a broad range of specialties including neuro, ENT, thoracic, plastics and robotics
• Endoscopic and laparoscopic procedure familiarity
• Microvascular/free flap and reconstructive case support
• Ability to manage specialty equipment used in robotic and advanced neurosurgical procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced operative environments
