Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based speech-language therapy to support functional communication and safe swallowing
• Collaborate closely with occupational and physical therapy, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document progress, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, strategies, and carryover activities
• Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Massachusetts
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
• Experience evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia (rehab experience a plus)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) and ability to pass background and health screenings

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Proficiency with dysphagia evaluation and management
• Excellent documentation and clinical charting skills
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient-family education
• Ability to prioritize caseload and adjust therapy based on patient needs
